Neofinetia falcata ‘Kyokushou’ 旭昇

My newest neofinetia, only got it in December 2020, purchased from Flora Peculia.

Tiger stripes appear on the new leaves, and then as the leaf matures stripes stay. Plant requires bright light to produce the stripes, so if the light is too low when the new leaf is starting – stripes might not appear at all.

My plant arrived with nice stripes on each of the 5 growths, now my task is to keep them appearing on every new leaf.

Knowledgeable neofinetia grower suggested to keep it on the higher end of the light range, but never so much that anthocyanin pigmentation begins showing on the leaves. So, for now I keep it on the windowsill in the orchid room (south-eastern exposure) and check the leaves very often to make sure it doesn’t get overexposed (not a problem now due to very gloomy days and low sun position, but might become too bright when the spring begins)…
